Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using RoomAccord. They form a binding agreement between you and RoomAccord.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the RoomAccord mobile app or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including house owners, admins, and members.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use RoomAccord. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Use of the Service on behalf of a business or organisation requires authority to bind that entity to these terms.
3. Your Account
Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. RoomAccord is not liable for losses arising from failure to keep credentials secure. You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use RoomAccord to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) harass, threaten, or harm other users; (c) post false, misleading, or fraudulent information — including fake agreements or rent records; (d) attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data or our systems; (e) use automated tools to scrape, extract, or abuse the Service; (f) impersonate another person or organisation.
5. Household Data & Content
You retain ownership of the content you create in RoomAccord — agreements, notices, rent entries, and messages. By uploading or creating content, you grant RoomAccord a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any agreements or documents you create. RoomAccord does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for professional legal counsel.
6. Subscriptions & Payments
RoomAccord offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("Pro") billed on our website via Stripe. Subscription fees are charged by Stripe according to your selected plan. Payments are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise. RoomAccord reserves the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
7. Privacy
Your use of RoomAccord is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All software, design, trademarks, and content created by RoomAccord (excluding user-generated content) are the exclusive property of RoomAccord and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary materials without express written permission.
9. Third-Party Services
RoomAccord integrates with third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (billing), and others. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. RoomAccord is not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.
10. Disclaimers
RoomAccord is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Agreements created in RoomAccord are digital records — their legal enforceability depends on applicable local law and is not guaranteed by RoomAccord. Always consult a legal professional for binding obligations.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoomAccord and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to RoomAccord in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from app settings. RoomAccord may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which RoomAccord is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
